Ingredients
- 1 cup puffed amaranth seeds (rajgira)
- 10-15 American Pecans
- 1 cup chopped jaggery meant for chikki (chikki ka gud)
- Ghee for greasing
- A pinch of salt
- ½ tsp green cardamom powder
Process
- Heat a pan. Add American Pecans and roast for 4-5 minutes on medium heat.
- Transfer on a chopping board and chop roughly.
- Heat a pan. Add the jaggery and cook till it reaches hard ball consistency.
- Grease a small mithai tray with ghee.
- Add puffed amaranth and American Pecans to jaggery and mix well. Add salt and green cardamom powder and mix well.
- Transfer in greased tray and level evenly with the help of a rolling pin.
- Make markings at equal distance and set aside for 35-40 minutes.
- Cut into squares and serve.
